RWRC TRADES SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Our Scholarship Award assists one local Montgomery County high school senior in attending a vocational, trade school, or certification program, including a certification from a community college (automotive, carpentry, computer technology, cosmetology, culinary, CDL, electrician, farrier, HVAC, plumbing, welding, etc.).

Although these jobs are not high-profile, they are critical to our daily life and, thus far, cannot be easily outsourced or performed by AI. And although certification takes less time (typically two years) than attending a university, it can still be costly and approach university tuition levels (on an average annual basis).

We want to continue this community outreach by offering a generous scholarship to a deserving Montgomery County graduating senior. In 2024 and 2025, the scholarship amount was $3,500; in 2026 it will be $3,000. The club itself does not contribute a fixed amount, we rely primarily on member donations. (Early next year, we will reach out and seek contributions from local trade businesses to help increase the scholarship).

Please know that 100% of any donation goes toward the 2026 Scholarship Fund. Donations are not tax-deductible. The scholarship is disbursed directly to the institution on the student’s behalf.

Please make donations payable to Rural Women’s Republican Club (or RWRC) and, in the memo section, write “for the scholarship”. Mail all donations by April 30th to:
